Head Of Content
Head of Content
Full-time | £35,000-£45,000 | South Warwickshire
Overview:
We're looking for a Head of Content to provide strategic leadership across a growing organisation's content and audience operation.
This role exists to bring clarity, focus, and structure to a complex, multi-channel content environment. It is a senior position responsible for defining direction and priorities - not for day-to-day execution.
You will shape how content supports audience engagement, growth, and commercial outcomes across platforms.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Setting Direction
Defining what content is created and why
Establishing clear content pillars rooted in audience needs
Ensuring content decisions are insight-led and commercially aware
Balancing inspirational storytelling with practical value
Planning & Structure
Building and maintaining a forward-looking content roadmap
Planning content months ahead with production realism in mind
Ensuring major content outputs align with wider business objectives
Creating systems that make content easier to deliver at scale
Commercial Enablement
Working with commercial stakeholders to shape credible content opportunities
Designing frameworks that allow partners to integrate naturally
Assessing ideas for feasibility, audience value, and brand fit
Platform Strategy
Deciding how content is distributed across channels
Ensuring content is designed to be reused and adapted
Maintaining consistency of messaging without duplication
Measurement & Improvement
Defining success metrics that actually matter
Reviewing performance with relevant stakeholders
Using insight to continuously refine content direction
Working Style & Scope:
This is a strategic leadership role focused on decision-making and systems rather than execution. You will not be expected to write long-form content, edit publications, manage social media accounts, upload content to a CMS, or operate as a traditional editor-in-chief. Instead, you will collaborate with a flexible delivery team that may include a managing editor or delivery lead, freelance creators, social and email specialists, operational support, and commercial stakeholders - providing clear direction and oversight to ensure content is delivered effectively and consistently.
About You:
We're less concerned with job titles and more interested in how you think.
You're likely to have experience in content strategy, audience development, media, marketing, or brand-led environments, and you're comfortable operating at a strategic level.
You'll bring:
Proven experience shaping content and audience strategy
A strong audience-first mindset
Commercial awareness without being sales-driven
Confidence challenging ideas that don't scale or add value
Comfort working with freelancers and specialist partners
A systems-led approach to building sustainable content operations#
