We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Internal Sales Support professional to join a busy and growing sales team based in Birmingham. This role is vital to the smooth running of the sales function, providing day-to-day support to the sales team while delivering excellent service to customers.

The Role
Reporting into the Sales Support Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring sales activities run efficiently and customers receive a consistently high level of service. You'll work closely with the sales team, customers, and internal departments to support order processing, manage enquiries, and help drive sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the sales team
- Answer incoming calls professionally and manage messages accurately
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication
- Raise, confirm, and process sales orders accurately within internal systems
- Chase and follow up on direct deliveries to ensure timely dispatch
- Monitor stock availability and manage stock orders to meet customer demand
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve issues impacting sales or delivery
- Provide quotations for products and services
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently and professionally
- Support account mapping and provide insights to assist sales planning
- Make outbound calls to customers and handle inbound sales enquiries
- Provide cover for sales colleagues during periods of absence
- Attend customer meetings where required to support the sales process
- Assist the sales team in achieving individual and team sales targets
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong understanding of customer service within a sales environment
- Familiarity with sales processes, order processing, and stock management
- Confident verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable using CRM systems, order processing software, and Microsoft Office
- A team player with a collaborative, supportive approach
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive and positive attitude
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changing priorities
- Driven, motivated, and keen to continuously develop skills
