IT Support Engineer - Contract
Role: IT Support Engineer
Rate: £18/hr (Inside IR35)
Location: East London College-based
Requirements: 35 hrs/week | Enhanced DBS required
We're seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide technical support across the College, covering both staff and students. You'll be working across PCs, Macs, Office 365, telephony and network systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver 1st & 2nd line IT support, including Windows, Macs, printers, whiteboards/Smartboards, IP telephony, and Wi-Fi.
* Log, manage, and resolve incidents, escalating when necessary.
* Support and administer Office 365 and college printing systems.
* Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution.
* Assist with software deployment and management (SCCM, Jamf Pro).
* Cover the IT Service Desk and provide project support when required.
* Maintain network patching and equipment moves to best practice standards.
Requirements:
* Minimum 4 years' hands-on IT support experience.
* Strong skills in Windows 10, Office 365, PC hardware, IP telephony, and Smartboard support.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support non-technical users.
Desirable: VMWare, Mac OS administration, server management, PowerShell, and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Hours:
35 hrs per week (8:30-5:00, Mon-Fri).
Occasional evening cover (until 9pm) on a rota basis.
💷 Rate: £18 per hour (Inside IR35)
